Tobias Emonts Holley
Tobias has been part of the life-sharing community at Tiphereth Camphill since 2006. The life and work there has offered him many fascinating opportunities to work in a variety of areas ranging from care work to financial and HR management. Part of his role is managing one of the residential care homes, although he is predominantly engaged with the role of CEO of Tiphereth.
Tobias studied Economics at the Universities of Stirling, Edinburgh and Strathclyde. Part of his PhD studies was tutoring undergraduate classes and he was also seconded by the Scottish Government to develop one of their economic policy modelling tools.
Tobias has six children in the School / Kindergarten, Seedlings, with another one on the way. His wife went to the Bristol Steiner school as a child and took the teacher training course at ESS.
What makes Edinburgh Steiner School relevant in the 21st Century is the more holistic approach that endeavours to understand each child as an individual.
Upholding the Anthroposophical impulse and understanding of the human being is special in today’s world.
Tobias’s life and work at Tiphereth is rooted in Rudolf Steiner’s philosophy, which helps him understand the approach the School is taking to education. His own education and work gives him a varied skillset, ranging from academic research to business management and engaging with policy-makers.
