All Class 8 Elect To Do Integrated Education Award

All Class 8 pupils have this year opted to do the IE Award, equivalent to a GCSE on the Ofqual register. They are a whole year younger than the specified age for this qualification and level of study, such is their capacity for focused, self-directed activity

Class 8 presented their outstanding independent projects in the School Hall over Thursday and Friday. The exhibition was visited by peers, teachers and parents, interacting with the pupils as they talked about their chosen subject, the research and the artefacts presented.

The Integrated Education Award enables pupils to follow their passion and explore an interest or career aspiration in depth whilst developing the ability to self-direct and coordinate their own learning. This is conducted over many months.

The Independent Project draws on formal, non-formal and informal learning and any area of the taught curriculum.
