Edinburgh Steiner School To Get A Head Of School

Following 85 years of flat management, Edinburgh Steiner School will evolve to having a Head of School  in place by the academic year 2024/25.

The Leadership, Management and Governance Working Group sent out a letter yesterday by email to all ESS staff and the current parent and carer body outlining changes to the management structure of our school that are endorsed and welcomed by both the College of Teachers
and the Board of Trustees. The changes will begin to come into effect from August; and ESS anticipate the new structure to be fully implemented by the 2024/25 school year

Three leadership roles will replace the current framework of the School Coordinator, which as of now is the only post charged with working full-time on general management of the school. Helen Newton will be joined by an Education Manager and a Head of School. An interim manager will be recruited by August 2023 to help with this transition.
