Step into a treasure trove of creativity at our Artisan Market Stalls, where every item tells a story. At the heart of the Christmas Market is our Community Craft Stall, a beautiful showcase of creations loving made by pupils, parents, and staff. These one-of-a-kind pieces reflect the creative, artistic and imaginative spirit of Steiner education.
Alongside our community treasures, there is also a curated mix of local artists, makers, designers and independent stall holders, offering unique gifts you won’t find on the high street. From seasonal decorations to handcrafted jewellery to art prints and handcrafted soaps to artisan foods and textiles, there’s something here to delight every shopper and help you tick off your Christmas list with gifts that are truly meaningful.

No visit to the Christmas Market is complete without joining in one of our much-loved Creative Craft Workshops. These hands-on sessions are a chance to pause amidst the festivities and experience the joy of making something. Whether it’s learning to crochet, dipping your own beeswax candle, or trying a new festive craft, our workshops are designed to spark creativity and leave you with a keepsake treasure.
Workshops are open to all ages and abilities, with options carefully curated to suit children, families, and families. They’re a wonderful way to enjoy the warmth and togetherness that make our Christmas Market so special. Tickets for workshops can be purchased on the day, come early to secure your spot, as they are always very popular!
The Christmas Market is full of magic for our youngest visitors, thanks to a festive programme lovingly designed by our Kindergarten team. Children can delight in enchanting puppet shows, cosy up for festive storytelling, and even decorate their own gingerbread treats.
Beloved Market traditions return this year too, King Winter will once again welcome children into his wintry grotto, while the whimsical Pocket Lady wanders the grounds with her apron full of tiny surprises.
For many families, these moments capture the true wonder of the season and create memories that last long after the Market ends.
The festive cheer carries through the day with a rolling programme of music, carol singing, and storytelling, filling the Market with warmth and wonder. From seasonal melodies to live performances, there’s always something uplifting to enjoy.
Be sure to stop by the Pixie Stage, where a rich line-up of performers will keep spirits bright throughout the day. Whether it’s a familiar carol sung by the community, a heart warming tale, or a surprise act, the entertainment adds an extra sparkle to the Market and creates moments of joy for all ages.
Festive Bakes & Sweet Treats
Step into the warmth of our Viennese Café, the sweet heart of the Christmas Market. Here you’ll find tables laden with decadent festive cakes, biscuits, and other treats, all lovingly baked by our school community. From traditional holiday favourites to creative homemade delights to vegan specialities, every bite is made to be savoured.
Add a cup of freshly brewed coffee, mulled wine, hot chocolate, or tea and it’s the perfect place to pause, reconnect, and soak up the festive atmosphere. Our café is a treat not to be missed.
Outside in our market square, warm up beside our outdoor fire pit and toast marshmallows or enjoy an indulgent Waffle.
When it’s time for something hearty, our savoury stalls will keep you cosy and well-fed. Enjoy comforting bowl of homemade soup or our much-loved dhal, perfect for a crisp November day. Outside watch our pupils at work with the handmade pizzas fresh from the outdoor pizza oven, or tuck into sizzling BBQ favourites hot off the grill.
Pair your meal with steaming coffee or hot chocolate, or warm your hands around a cup of spiced mulled wine as you wander the Market. With plenty of hearty options to choose from, there’s something delicious for every appetite.
The Christmas Market Raffle is one of our biggest and most exciting fundraisers, helping to support select projects that nurture and strengthen our Steiner educational ethos. Each year, it’s a highlight for families and visitors alike, with prizes that are as meaningful as they are desirable.

Tickets are just £1 and will be sold in advance by ESS families as well as at the Christmas Market. The Raffle Draw will take place at 3pm in the School Hall. Winners not present on the day will be contacted directly. It’s a wonderful way to support the school while taking home something truly special!
No Christmas Market would be complete without a little festive fun! Children and adults alike can test their luck at the Tombola, try their hand at traditional fairground games, and enjoy playful activities sprinkled throughout the campus. There is something for everyone to join in.
These moments of laughter and excitement add to the magic of the day, creating joy, raising smiles, and leaving families with memories to treasure long after the Market ends.
